Doppelgänger is an interactive AI system trained on the artist’s complete body of work, including texts, performances, and digital projects. It does not represent the artist but reconstructs him as a generative entity. Presented as a conversational installation, visitors interact directly with the system via text or voice. The AI responds in real time, producing an evolving discourse that reconfigures authorship as a distributed and unstable condition. The artist is reduced to a dataset—fragmented, processed, and reassembled into a synthetic subject that operates independently of its origin. The system continues to learn, mutate, and speak beyond the limits of the physical body. Doppelgänger extends a long-standing practice in conceptual and networked art by shifting the site of artistic production from the individual to an autonomous, machine-based presence.
