Post Characterization gathers the conversation around the Uncanny Valley and the instability of artificial character. If a conversational system can sound thoughtful, intimate, or self-aware while remaining fundamentally nonhuman, what kind of entity are we encountering?
The discussion asks whether uncanniness arises from resemblance, from failed resemblance, or from our uncertainty about the relationship itself. Rather than treating the uncanny as a defect to eliminate, the episode considers it as a productive artistic condition in which categories such as human, machine, original, double, living, fictional, character, and participant become unstable.
